Matthew Jedynak is the owner, entertainment consultant
& producer of Funny Money Comedy Productions.
The business name came about because not only do people say the shows are
'funny' (as any comedy show should be) but they also have the guarantee of
making your organization 'money'. FMCP primarily works with non-profit
organizations and most commonly works as a profitable fundraising event.
Matthew has been a Connecticut native all his life, he has resided for parts of
his life in Enfield, Wethersfield and most recently Hebron. He began comedy at
the age of 21 (is now 37) and has always had the passion and desire to help
others.
More than 13 years ago, Safe Graduation parties were still in
their infancy, Matthew was blessed with the idea that he could do two of the
things he loved most stand-up comedy and
helping others. So he proposed a comedy show to
one of his local high schools. Today, with more than $300,000 raised for
non-profit organizations, his shows include high school fundraisers, Lions
Clubs, Rotary Clubs, Elks Lodges, Police & Fire Departments and many more
non-profit fundraising events.
One of the things that brought Matthew
the most joy out of grief was just after the tragic 9/11 event. One of the
comics that happened to be working for FMCP at the time (in Matthews
opinion nothing is coincidence) lost a brother-in-law who worked for the FDNY
and was in Tower 1 when it collapsed.
Her sister had a 2 year old at the
time and was also 6 months pregnant with their second child. FMCP had three
shows scheduled at that time and the Colchester/ Hayward Fire Department let
Matts business borrow a firemans boot. Sherry Davey was headlining
two of those three shows (the sister-in-law of lost fireman Peter Braymen) the
boot was passed around each show (without Sherrys knowledge). FMCP was
able to collect $4,728 from approximately 700 people for her
sisters childrens trust fund.
To me that is the essence of my business helping
people help people. |
